and finds his or her means of living in the streets. Street children
are divided into:
1. Children on the street (regular connection with family)
2. Children of the street (only occasional connection withfamily)

Information about the number of street children in Russia
The
estimates for the number of street children in Russia vary a lot. The
figures of 2002-2004 suggest that there might be app. 500 000 children
living permanently or occasionally on the streets (which means that
they stay in basements, attics, railway stations, pipe tunnels, manholes).
In addition to these children there are neglected children who anyway

Causes
and consequences of the street children's problem in Russia
There are
some orphaned children on the street, but the vast majority of street
children are "social orphans". Most often their parents are
alcoholics and not able to feed the child, or the father or step father
