Itch torments
street children
In addition to all other troubles and sufferings, street children have
many diseases. One of the worst is the itch.
It is caused by itch mites that penetrate under the skin and cause continuous
itching. Eruption occurs on hands, legs, breast, belly, and from scratching
the skin becomes imflamed. The disease is very contageous. When the children
also have lice, there is not a single moment of relief from the smarting
and itching!
| The
children were overjoyed in the shower! The renovation of our new day center facility is going on, and we already can use the bathroom. The first three boys to take shower were Sergey, Zhorik ja Roma, who have been the most tormented by itch. Before the shower, our medical worker Elizabeth spread on their infected bodies strong solution that kills the itch mite. |

| We
were moved to tears when we looked at the boys’ joy. It had been
such a long time since their previous bath that it was difficult to
get them out from the shower! They soaped themselves several times
and simply just stood under the shower enjoying the warm water. After the boys had washed themselves we gave them new, clean clothes. They were overjoyed! Roma said: “This is heaven!” After this we continued the showers and itch treatment with other street children. |

“We cannot do a lot for you.
But everything we do speaks to you that God loves you.”
If even one child’s life changes
as a result from what we do,
our efforts have not been in vain!
