MOSCOW

Street Patrol

Moscow is where our street children's work was launched. Since 1995, street patrol goes out to the streets five times a week.

The Moscow work is led by Gennadi Dolbin. Marina Dolbina leads the patrol, and Valentina and Alexander Rotenko serve as shelter home parents.

Our shelter home has been oparating since 1997. App. 25 former street children or children of drug rehabilitants live there. The first children have already grown up and are beginning an independent life.

In 2004, the street patrol, led by Marina Dolbina, helped app. 550 children and teenagers, in 2005 about the same number. App. 30 of them are helped off the street every year in different ways. The patrol also helps youths over 17 years of age, but they are not shown on our statistics.

Most of the children have come from outside Moscow. The patrol also sends drug and alcohol addicted youths to our rehabilitation center in Yaroslavl.

During its ten years of operation, the patrol has regularly helped 10,000 street children. The shelter home has housed 100 children up till now.
